Beautiful Madness

Hey!

I’d like to start by saying, I hope you had a great last 4 weeks. Summer seems to be in full effect, so I hope you’re able to get out and get some sun.
It’s been a very busy month for us over here. We recently released the first single from my upcoming ALBUM! (more on that in a moment). I hope you’re liking the tune. If you downloaded early or bought a journal, I deeply appreciate your support and generosity. If you haven’t yet picked up a journal, you should go check them out in my SHOP. I stand by what I said about journaling being the most essential tool for self work. Also, they’re gorgeous. So. That’s a plus.

Let’s dig deeper into the merch for a moment!

The big reason for all of the exclusive merchandise this year, besides wanting to make cool new things for you, is to help raise funds for the album. This album/rollout is about 10x bigger than that of, “A Boy From Somewhere.” It’s getting some tender love and care from some world renown engineers and musicians. It’s getting a movie. *Not a music video. A film. Like, shown in a theater. Be excited.* It’s getting vinyl pressed, and a tour. So, I’ve decided to continue to make cool, exclusive merchandise per release, to help spread the word, as well as fund all this madness. Beautiful madness, but madness nonetheless. Which leads me to my next release!

Mark your calendars for July 25th. Song number 2, titled, “Stat”, will be available everywhere! But for you. For the family. The download link is right here for you. Cause I love you. “Stat” will be accompanied by a cool little one take visualizer, as well as some special coffee mugs, that showcase one of my favorite lyrics in the song. Spoiler, they are also the first words you hear on the album. Another album spoiler, “Stat” is track 1, and “Life Don’t Wait” is track 12. So once you download the tune, you’ll have access to the beginning and the end of the album. Who’s doing that? Who loves you like I do? Trick question. Nobody.

“Stat” is a song about coping with mental illness of all shapes and sizes. The various ways we do so. The things that may trigger said illness, etc… The basis of the song stems from this idea that vices are used to help combat the effects of the illness. I challenge that thought, by presenting the idea that maybe when we take that shot, we’re taking in the anxiety, or the depression, or the anger, etc…Maybe when we drink that coffee in the morning to “take on the day”, we’re drinking in that fear and doubt that leads us to believe that we “need” these things to survive. For context, I have been somebody who fully believed that I needed something like that to get by. From late 2018 through 2020, I was drinking heavily. “Coping.” I relied heavily on alcohol. I don’t say this for any reason other than to give you comfort in knowing that if you do this as well, you’re not alone. Also, to reassure you that I’m not simply preaching something I know nothing of. I’ve since developed healthier habits. It took a lot of work. Forcing myself to go inward and pluck out the true root of the problem. It’s an ugly process, but it is more than worth it. You are more than worth it. Which leads me to my last thing for this month’s letter.

Attached to this letter is a little mental health writing prompt. It’s nothing crazy. Just an easy way for you to check in with yourself. For yourself. If you’re comfortable sharing your responses with me afterwards, I’m all ears. Or eyes…You get it. I want to support you. That being said, this is for YOU. So, if you’re not ready for others to read these words, that is A OK. I care about you, and I want you to care about you. Here’s your food for thought this month.

- It is not selfish to be conservative with your energy. Be generous, yet frugal. Spend when you are able, on who or what gives energy back to you -

Love you,
-C
